Mentoring the children in the community
When it comes to community service, we don't just talk the talk. We walk the walk.
We give paid time off to colleagues who want to volunteer in the community. Typically, more than 95% of Barclaycard US colleagues take us up on the offer – logging more than 30,000 volunteer hours each year.
We match all colleague fundraising efforts. That results in nearly $500,000 in additional contributions to charities and causes each year.
We make it easy to give to the United Way. Most colleagues elect to support the United Way – many through payroll deduction.
Our community service is focused on helping people build life skills. How do we do it? By mentoring. Teaching. And most importantly, caring.

Teaching the children in the community

  • More than 300 Barclaycard US mentors have worked one-on-one with kids at EastSide Learning Center, which serves Delaware's most economically and socially at-risk children. We've committed our time and financial support to this award-winning program, which is the biggest in the state of Delaware.
  • We've partnered with the West End Neighborhood House and the YWCA to create innovative programs that teach transferrable employability skills and sustainable financial independence.
  • Each year, 1,000 children visit with 900+ Barclaycard US colleagues who give them a glimpse into the lives of working professionals and teach them about saving money and setting goals in a one on one tutoring session.
